Hear Ye Hear Ye!

A few things that I want to bring to your attention about the schedule. But before I do an important note on the behavior of our group on Sunday morning:

Teens, I need to be very honest. Your behavior during worship has been terrible lately. It has become an embarrassment to me, and to our group as a whole. You talk, you play on your phones, you write notes, you waste the visitor tags, prayer cards, bulletins, and anything else you find on the pews. I have been getting a lot of complaints about you during worship. Quite frankly, you should be ashamed at your behavior. It does not reflect well upon your desire to actually WORSHIP God, nor does it reflect well upon your parents, your group, & me.
I want you to be in worship on Sundays. But I want you to be there to WORSHIP. I know you guys don't get to see each other all the time, but to use Sunday mornings during worship as your social hour is downright pitiful.
I hope that you understand that I am not Mad or Angry, I am just disappointed. You all talk a Big game at Impact & Camp about how you want Sunday Church to be just as awesome, but then you play games and goof off instead of Focusing on God. Maybe you don't really want that, you just get caught up in the moment at these events. I don't know. But you behavior needs to change. I know Danny might not always share a lesson that interests you, but if you listen, you might learn something that will help you with all the grief you complain about on facebook during the week. Maybe, Ed doesn't always sing the songs that you want too, but worship in singing isn't about us, it is about offering Praise to God.
I Challenge you to "Step YO Game UP!" in Sunday morning worship. Be an example to one another, don't let people next to you goof off. Keep each other accountable.

If the behavior continues, I will start to get mom & dad to come sit with you, and we know you don't want that.
I love you guys and want to see you focus on God during worship.

BACK TO THE SCHEDULE CHANGES:
1.) The Spring Retreat scheduled for April 8-10, will be getting moved. The ACT or SAT is that weekend and a lot of you are planning to take it. I am working on a new date once we book our site.

2.) Due to a schedule conflict with the Men's Retreat, I decide to help them out and move the Sr. Breakfast to May 22nd.

The Weekend Is Upon Us

We have a few things happening this weekend.

On Saturday you have a chance to serve at the Homeless Outreach from 10:30 am - 12:30pm

Sunday is a packed day of worship and fellowship. Don't forget to be in classes at 9am on Sunday morning prior to Worship at 10.

Share Group is back on Sunday Night. Meet with your group during your normal meeting times!

Winter Jam

This Sunday we are going to head to Mobile for Winter Jam.

What is Winter Jam? It is a Christian Concert Showcase full of awesome contemporary Christian musicians. Go to their website to find out full info. WEBSITE

What does it Cost? Bring $12 to go. Please, try to bring exactly that, I don't know how much change I will have to break 20's. Also, you will need to bring some $ for dinner at a fast food place & money for snacks at the show if you want some.

What Times? Be at Gateway at 3:00 pm to leave. We will be back late, but will call as we head home.

I think that is really all you need to know.
Remember because of this event, we WILL NOT have Share Group this Sunday.

What Is Up!

Here are some things coming up.

PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE NO SHARE GROUP February 6th, 13th, & 27th

February
6th - Parent/Teen Meeting & Luncheon - Make plans to bring your favorite dish to serve & share for a potluck lunch after morning worship in the Gym. We will eat, fellowship, and then have a meeting to discuss plans & goals for 2011. ALL Teens & Parents need to be here!

6th (Evening) - Super Bowl Party at The Ray's - It is going to be time for our annual Super Bowl Party at the home of Amy & Scottie Ray. Boys will need to bring a bag of chips and a 2 liter drink. Girls bring a dessert for the group. We will meet at their home 30 minutes before kick-off and stay till the game is over. WE WILL NOT BE PROVIDING TRANSPORTATION, so you will need to find a ride. Parents, feel free to join us if you would like! Their address will be available to pick up at church, or check your directories.

13th - Winter Jam - We are going to travel over to Mobile for a Contemporary Christian Music festival. The cost will be $12 per Teen, plus any money you need for Dinner & Snacks at the show.
We will leave Gateway at 3:00 p.m. & be back late (we will call on the way home)

March

5th - ECS Auction Volunteering - We will again be helping out our friends at ECS by serving at their annual Silent Auction & Dinner. I need about 10-15 teens to help with this. You will need to wear White Shirts and Black Pants and for girls Black Pants/Skirts. The time will be from about 4-8 or 9 pm that night. YOU GET SERVICE HOURS FOR THIS.
