Lock-In

This Sunday Night September 5th. We are going to have an All-night Lock-in!

When part 1: Get dropped off at 7:30 p.m. (please eat dinner before you come, we will have snacks but not a meal.
When part 2: Get picked up Monday morning at 7:30 a.m.
Cost: $10 per teen
What to bring: A friend, clothes to have fun in all night, & a good attitude! (and maybe some caffeine to get you through the night.)

All Things New

Next Month, Teen Gateway will begin a new message series on Wednesday nights called, "All Things New".

We are gonna be discussing how God, as a creator, love to make new things. Because of this, he has a desire to make us new daily!

Also, throughout the series, I will be trying new things myself. What you may ask? Well, you will just have to be there to find out.

Updates

I am currently trying to put together a full fall/winter calendar, but we do have some things you need to know about that are coming up soon.

Here are some dates to know:

• August 28th - Angel Food Ministry - begins around 5-5:30 a.m. and lasts till about 9:30.
• August 28th - Homeless Outreach - Following Angel Food at 10:30-12:30 we will have out Homeless event
  
• August 29th - Gateway's End of the Summer Beach Devotional - Danny will make us aware of the details for this event on Sunday morning (it will be an evening event)
• September 12th - Share Group Kick-off - We will have a big share group party to celebrate the end of summer, beginning of school, & the beginning of Share Group. It will be 5:30-7:30 p.m.
• October 1-3 - Fall Retreat - This will be again at Gulf Coast Bible Camp. Cost is $50 per teen. Details on when we leave will be available in Mid-September.
  

Those are the main dates to know right now.

A few other things you can help with is donations for the homeless outreach. If you have any old backpacks that you would like to donate, please bring them on Sundays or Wednesdays. The homeless in our community are always in need of backpacks to carry their belongings. We can help with that need!

End of the Summer Slideshow

CHANGE OF PLANS!!!

The summer schedule claims that this Saturday night will be our end of the Summer Bash, but we are changing plans.

We are going to do our end of the Summer SlideShow & Bash this Sunday Night after evening Church.
Church this evening is going to be our Gateway Work at Church Night where Burl will have a number of service projects around the church building for us to work on. This will begin at 5 and after that is over (probably 7) we will watch our Slideshow and have a good time remembering the summer that was.

Please make plans to attend. It will be a lot of fun laughing and thinking about all that has happened since school got out!

Hello Teen Gateway & Parents!

I have a new way to keep you connected with Teen Gateway Updates.

FREE TEXT MESSAGING!!!! (at least if you get unlimited texts)

Here are the easy steps to sign up:
- Go to the website www.rainedout.com!
- Then in the "Find your organization" spot, type "Teen Gateway" and then search.
- Click on "Teen Gateway" in results.
- Click "Sign up now for mobile alerts"
- Put in a username, password, cell #, etc. (don't worry this is safe and your info is kept private)
- Once you sign up you will be texted a confirmation code that you enter online, as well as an email validation code to validate your email so you get updates there as well.
- After validation you will be set up to receive text updates from Teen Gateway.

Please remember that "Standard Text Messaging Rates Apply". This means what you pay per text by your cell phone company is what you are charged. If you have unlimited texting then it won't cost you a thing.

Also note that each Text Update will be accompanied by an Advertisement of some sort. That is how this stays free. It is usually at the bottom of every text. This company is a family friendly organization, because its geared toward sports leagues and other organizations, so the advertisements will be family friendly.

I hope that all of you will sign up for this, as it will be another way for me to keep you updated with Teen Gateway info!

WORK CAMP 2010

Work Camp 2010

When: Work Camp will be from August 5-10.
Times: Please refer to individual day schedules below
Cost: $35 per student plus the cost of Food at Waterville on Saturday (The $35 will cover entrance fee to Waterville. If you choose not to go to Waterville, Cost is $25 for just work days)
What to bring: Wear Work Clothes (MUST WEAR SHOES) on Thursday/Friday & Monday/Tuesday, plus bring extra clothes to change into for dinner and devo at night.
Other things to know: All 3 meals will be provided every work day, as well as Dinner on Saturday & Lunch and Dinner on Sunday.

Daily Schedule of Events

August 5th-6th (Thursday & Friday): Work Days 1 & 2
-Drop off between 8:00 & 8:30 a.m.
-Pick-up is 8:30 at night
-Wear work clothes & bring clothes to change into for dinner & devo at night

August 7th (Saturday): We are going to Waterville
-Drop off at 9 a.m.
-Pick-up is at 8:30 p.m.
-Bring Money For Lunch at Waterville
-Bring a change of clothes for when we get back for dinner & a devo.

August 8th (Sunday): Church day
-Come to morning worship like normal
-Attend the Basketball Camp Tournament after worship (Lunch will be provided)
-Bring a Change of clothes to hang out till Evening worship (we may go to the beach, but that is not solid yet)
-Attend Evening Worship

August 9th-10th (Monday & Tuesday): Work Days 3 & 4
-Drop off between 8:00 & 8:30 a.m.
-Pick-up is 10 p.m. at night
-Wear work clothes & bring clothes to change into for dinner & devo at night
